How to solve the problem of diesel engine emitting black smoke
Diesel engine exhaust emits black smoke mainly because of reasons such as too rich mixture, poor mixture formation or incomplete combustion. Let's talk about the common causes and solutions of diesel engine emitting black smoke:
1. Air filter blockage
Intake obstruction is the most common problem, because too much dust and particulate matter in the air causes the filter element to accumulate more dust and dirt, increasing the intake resistance and causing insufficient air supply, which will also affect the combustion efficiency.
Solution: Check, clean or replace the air filter element
2. Poor oil quality and carbon deposits
If the added diesel is of poor quality, carbon deposits will be generated after the mixture is burned, and carbon deposits will block the oil circuit and cause poor oil supply, which may cause the mixture to be too rich and generate black smoke.
Solution: Clean the oil circuit or add fuel cleaning agent
3. Insufficient compression force
After the valve, piston ring and cylinder liner are worn, the compression pressure is insufficient, the pressure and temperature at the end of compression do not meet the requirements, the combustion conditions of the fuel are deteriorated, and black smoke is easily generated.
Solution: 4S inspection is required to confirm the root cause of the fault and replace the damaged parts
4. Poor operation of the injector
Poor operation of the injector is mainly manifested in three aspects: one is poor spray quality; the second is insufficient injection pressure; the third is injector dripping. All three situations will prevent the fuel from being fully mixed with the air in the cylinder, and thus cannot be completely burned.
Solution: Check and replace the injector
5. Poor operation of the injection pump
The injection pump plunger or the oil outlet valve is seriously worn. Severe wear of individual or all plungers or oil outlet valves of the injection pump will cause the injection pump oil pressure to drop, making the injector pressure relatively delayed, the injection delayed, and the afterburning increased, so the diesel engine emits black smoke.
Solution: Check the pressure of the injection pump and repair or replace it
